Does anyone have a used alarm that they can sell me? I don't have the money to go buy a new one and I would really like to try one. My son is an extremely deep sleeper but I'm awake most nights anyway so I could help him learn to wake up. Sometimes he has night terrors too and sleepwalks and it's hard to tell if he's really awake or not. Right now we're using 'Goodnights' and a plastic sheet but there are nights he wets through even his 'diaper'. I know he hates it but it seems that most of his friends accept him for who he is and not what he does so I'm thankfull about that but I do want to help him get over this problem. We've tried the 'bladder stretching excercises' to no avail and sent him to bed after having had no liquid for hours but it doesn't help. Maybe the alarm would do it. If you have one that you could sell me please e-mail me at Jade_Phoenix812@yahoo.com . I don't check boards or chatrooms often so if you have any comments, please e-mail me directly. Thanks... :)

Is anyone in here from Australia? My son has recently started bedwetting again after five years of being dry. Goodnites no longer fit him. We need a brand of nappy or pullup (he doesn't care which) that fits a 16 year old of average build.

I've been diapering my 10 yr old son now for six months to keep his bed dry. I use cloth diapers and extra large plastic baby pants on him. He was starting to do better you know about being diapered but now he says those are for babies again. In the mornings sometimes he's like really soaked too. He wets more sometimes so he really has to wear his diaper. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get him to like wearing the diapers. I think its really neat for him to have a dry bed now.

We have 2 sons, 11 and 14 years old. They are both bedwetters (inherited from me, I was a bedwetter until 16), and they wore daytime diapers till 7-8 years and still have some accidents after that. Their bedwetting is actually of no big problem as they wear diapers in bed, it is the elder boy's daytime wetting that worries us a bit. The last year he has had rather frequent accidents, and we start suspecting him beeing lazy and doing it on purpose, because he never wets at school or when beeing out in daylight with his friends. However, he wets when beeing in our garden with his brother or walking home from friends or movie in the (dark) afternoon, mostly wearing black jeans. Last winter, when wearing waterproof (!) snowpants he wet 1-2 a week, and last week when he was out sailing his small boat, also wearing waterproof garmets he wet 2 times. He always says it is "an accident", having some excuses for what has happened and that he at his age should not "forget" to go to the restroom, and strangely enough this usually happens under conditions when he is mostlyable to hide the wetness! We have tried talking to him at no avail, and we really wonder what to do. Anyone having had the same problems or having suggestions?

My son is 11 and has not had a dry night in his life. I would like to try an alarm but I can't seem to find any objective information. It always seems that somebody is selling their own brand. I would appreciate any success stories or failure stories for that matter. Thanks in advance.

My son has never had more than a few dry nights his whole life. For years I tried to get him up at night but he never learned to do it himself. His father was a heavy bedwetter until he was 17 and still has problems when he drinks beer. I tried several other things (a rented alarm woke everyone up but him!) to get him to stop but I got so frustrated that I started using the large Pampers when David was 9. It took some getting used to but now I have him in youth-sized Attends diapers at night (he needs the absorbtion - Pullups don't keep him dry enough) and as long as we keep it to ourselves he accepts them. It's not the ideal answer, but it's so much easier to put him to bed in a diaper without having to worry about restricting drinks or getting him up. Still, one of his greatest fears is that his friends will find out. We get the diapers by mail in an unmarked box, but he's so sensitive that he's sure someones gonna figure out what they are. He's getting into that self-conscious age I guess. Puberty is not far away - what will that bring?

My son has always had the odd bedwetting incidents but they haven't mattered because they have only lasted a few days. Well for about the past two weeks i have known he has been wetting again. After the last wetting incident he said he'd come to me if it started agin. Well he hasn't yet and i'm worried. I'm thinking of putting him back into nappies if he doesn't stop or tell me soon. Have many other parents had experience of their children not telling their parents about their bedwetting.

My daughters 10, and been wetting the bed for 5 months now. I have put her in diapers pretty much since she started wetting the bed. It was tough at first, she cried a few tears but now we are both used to to as you can get. Its nice to read other parents comments here and get ideas of what to do. We are now gettting ready for the family vacation and she understands she will be wearing on the trip adter a long discusssion. Any parents have experience in taking the long family trips and how they hace handled it,anything different than the normal family routine or reccomendations, thanks.

thanks bill, dotti, dave and jen for your replies.when i was food shopping last week i picked up the largest size of diapers pampers makes hoping they would fit.friday nite after his bath i called my son into his room and showed him the diaper and told him he was going to try it tonite. there was a lot of tears but i assured him it was best for him and if he wanted to go on vacation he had to wear them. after about a half hour i findly got them on pulled up his pajamas and you could hardly notice them he did make alittle noise when he walked around but he soon got used to if.saturday morning when he got up he was so happy his bed was dry.that night it was no problem getting him ready for bed. we are all sleeping alot better thanks everyone.

My son is 15 1/2 and still wets the bed 2 or 3 times a week. We don't make a big deal out of it. He knows what he should and shouldn't do, such as stop drinking by 7 or 8, completely empty his bladder before going to bed, telling himself he will wake up & go to the bathroom, etc. We have used 2 or 3 different alarm systems and they didn't work. We even set his alarm clock to go off about 2 every morning so he could get up and go to the bathroom, but he NEVER heard it. So we have decided he will just out grow it. He changes his own bed when he wets and washes his own bed linens. He is very conscientious of the smell, so he uses lots of febreze. I know that ranting and raving about it is not going to help. He doesn't do it intentionally, that is for sure. I guess we all need patience. The pediatrician has given him a prescription for DDAVP. He takes that when he spends the night away from home or goes to ball camp. The wet nights are fewer each passing year so it will continue to get better, I'm sure.:-)

I was wondering if there is anyone out there with a positive story about how their teenager used to wet the bed several times a night every night, and they never thought they would stop. And one day it was all over.?
