I have a son who is still bedwetting. I put him back in diapers and rubber pants about two months ago. He dose not like the idea and there is little cooperation at bed time when it comes to putting them on. So I do the changing. I have back problems so I can't have him lay on the floor. The bed is also to low and creates stiffness in my back. Dose anyone have any ideas out there for a changing table that would support an 11 yr. old. It would be nice to have something higher then a bed so I don't have to bend over so much. If anyone has any ideas where I can get a table for changing I would appreaciate it to let me know. It would be nice for open shelves so that I can store the diapers underneath. I want everything with the diapers to be very visible for motivational purpoeses.

If what Joan and Tom say below is true, namely that this site has been infiltrated by kids and adults with diaper fetish, then neither the bulletin boards, nor the chatrooms, nor the polls on this site may be useful. But I strongly disagree. Obviously poll #27 was swayed by voters strongly drawn to diapers, as 49% want to wear diapers forever. Is that diaper fetish or diaper attachment? What portion of those wanting to wear diapers forever are "legitimate" bedwetters? Click here to see rest of message.

My children wet a lot. Today I got a phone call from school saying Hannah(11) just peed her pants. When my children got home they were wet too.I decided I'd diaper them 24/7 from now on and tommorrow we are going skiing in Asia and I will diaper them. We now have a changing station in the closet and I found my daughter had pooped. Which diaper works best and what should I do?

The May poll (#27) results are a sobering indication of the risks of putting kids back in diapers for bedwetting. Almost half of those voting say that they don't want to ever stop wearing diapers. Some people may argue that the poll is not scientific. I emailed the site and asked them how they kept voters from voting more than once. Their answer is, "We log the IP address of each voter and delete votes with closely-similar IP addresses. We also use 'cookies' to block repeat voting." Therefore I believe that the poll reveals legitimate information, that emotional attachment (addiction?) to diapers is very real, is quite common, and appears to be a significant cause of persistent (or even new) nighttime wetting and day wetting. I hope that this revelation will produce caution in using diapers and stimulate renewed interest in other ways to deal with nighttime wetting, such as DDAVP and alarms.

Hi, I just became the foster mother to my 15yr old niece. She is a chronic bedwetter and she's been in bed for 6 years. Her social worker told me she has a thyroid condition that account for her bedwetting. I have spoken with several medical professionals who say that should not be the case. What I do know for you is that my niece has Sickle Cell Anemia and I know that came play a role in bedwetting. I have look in the Sickle Cell Anemia website and haven't found any info to help. Can anyone point me somewhere that can answer my questions?

My daughter has two girls (6 and 8). They are both night wetters. She diapers them both and it seems to work for all. The only issue I have is that she also diapers them for long trips to avoid public rest rooms. It takes about 31/2 hours to travel to our home by train and the girls always arrive in wet diapers. The night diapers and plastic pants seem okay to me, but the traveling diapers seem extreme. How can they ever learn to stay dry and use the potty if it is okay to wet during the day? Comments much appreciated

This month's poll is getting ever more interesting. If it is accurate (and I'm not sure it is), embarrassment and punishment account for more than half of the kids who reduced their bedwetting, and yet ALL the experts say these are the two things we must NEVER use. What is going on here? (Actually, we did try restricting TV time and an allowance handicap last year and they seemed to help, but we gave them up because they were "punishments."

Hi Joan, I left a message for your son Tom under his post. I know I told you that sometimes we get creeps in the chat room but it isn't often. I can also understand your not wanting Tom to run into one of them. I have a suggestion; why don't you monitor your son while in the chat; other parents do. That would give him some support by chatting with some of us with the same problem. I know that I would like to be of some help. I'm in the room starting about 3:15 PM my time which is 5 or 6 hours earlier than you. Or, maybe on a weekend.

Has anyone looked at this month's poll on what decreased kids' bedwetting? 31 per cent said "growinig out of it," which you would expect, but 28 per cent said "embarrassement" and 22 per cent said punishment! Almost no one said alarms or medications and not a single person said rewards/stars, which just about every expert and website seems to think is the best way to get kids to stop wetting. What are we to make of these results?
