I have 5 children. We are a blended family and have been in the same household together for 3 years. My two stepsons have always had night time wetting. The youngest (now 8) has always wet during the day also. The oldest (now 10) has not wet during the day but has Bowel Movements in his pants regularly. This is something that has always happened (not attributed to the split of their parents or the marriage of my husband and I)My husband says that he never did anything about the day time wetting but the day time Bowel Movements he would spank the oldest and have him clean out his underwear. He also says that it has been going on since both of them were potty trained. When I stopped working and started staying home with the kiddos to get them adjusted to life with us all together...and when I eventually started taking over the role of disaplinarian with all of the kids...I attempted to deal with this problem... Hi folks-we have a daughter aged 14,and I know she already joined this site using our e-mail-actually,we encouraged her to discuss her problem with other kids as we think it may help. She started wetting at nights about one year ago,so we originally consulted our doctor, who said there is no definite medical reason,so we asked a psychologist who thinks she will grow out of it and that the root is the kids at school who bullied her a while back, although they have stopped. She reluctantly agreed to try disposable diapers after a couple of months of wet sheets etc,but I found these expensive and also they tended to leak,so I turned to cloths and the old-fashioned plastic pants, like I had until I was about 2 when I was a kid-she hates these and we have fights about them nearly every evening,as she says they are hot, uncomfortable and look horrid.I told her how I hated them too,but that once I learned to" behave",my mom let me stop using them,so she can try the same!Any one else using the old-fashioned plastic pants who has similar troubles??Thanks.

My soon to be 11 year old daughter has told me that for her upcoming birthday she would like to "get to wear diapers again". I was very surprised by this considering there's no medical reason involved. When I asked her why, she said that she actually likes to wear them and wants to be in diapers again for at least a full year, until she turns 12. She told me she's willing to buy them with her babysitting money. I told her i'd have to see what other parents thought about this and how they'd handle it. She asked if she could at least wear them from holloween until the morning after her birthday on the 17th. I was reluctant but agreed only if she bought them and changed them. I told her that after her birthday she probably won't be allowed to continue. My question is, since i'm a single parent, how would the parents here handle this same situation? Thanks, Michelle

my 11 year old daughter, began to wet the bed, she used diaper again, even so she has been wetting the clothes. In São Paulo the clothe diaper and plastic pants desappeared of the stores, they were cheap and it protected the clothes.

hi my fellow parents having a problem here i have two girls one 14 mos the other 6 i work 12 hour days so after school the 5 year old goes to a daycare for ages 6 mos to 12 years.any way they told me to send a pair of clothes just in case and i did however i forgot her panties.well i didnt know until the other day when she had an accident she had no panties so they put a diaper on her. which i didnt know about until we got home. it really embarresed her i think she just didnt say it did. but she does not want to go back to day care. it is a special needs day care she has aspergers syndrome thats probably why they did it. the other kids could have cared less. but she said she was embaresed ans does not want to go back. but they are the only daycare here that can administer medication which she has to have.we have always dealt with this in privacy ( it was our little secret so to speak ) but i am wandering if i should just put here in another day care and forget about it or let her stay in this one a few suggestions would be appreciated thanks

I want to "Thank You" all for your suggestions. My son still won't wear anything to bed and I will not fight with him over this. I do see that he is making more of an effort to stay dry. I think it is begining to get to him that he can't have sleepovers. Sat. was his 13th B-day and he so wanted to sleep over his friends house. It broke my heart to have to tell him "No".....but, I am not willing to take the chance of him being found out. I sometimes wonder who is more effected by his bedwetting...is it me or him? My son was a daytime wetter, he will only wet a tiny bit during the day sometimes. What we do on long trips is have johhny's with us. It's a bag, that when the urine goes in.....it gels up. I also make sure that we have a towel or blanket with us, he pulls that over for privcey. They say that bedwetting is heredity, have you all found this to be true? In my case my ex was a bedwetter and still to this day, has trouble holding. He is also a sleepwalker and I found him in some very strange places to go.

After many many years of wet sheets and pajamas I decided to put my 13 year old son back in night-time diapers earlier this year. At first it was a struggle and there were tears however he eventually got used to wearing diapers and stopped resisting. I had hoped this would stop the bedwetting which used to happen 2 or 3 times a week, but noticed a month ago or so that his diaper is now wet every morning when I wake him up, and sometimes even poopy. I asked him why he thought his diaper was now wet every morning and sometimes dirty, and he just said he didn't know. Over the weekend I walked in on him in the bathroom by mistake, and caught him squatting down in front of the sink and deliberately messing his diaper! He ran out of the bathroom and still won't talk to me about it. Now I'm thinking he might also be wetting his pants on purpose. Does anyone here have any idea what the heck is going on???
