From Sandra, Child's Age 11 - 3/1/2002 - IP#: 67.25.120.159 Click here to reply First I would like to thank the people responsible for this board. Our son is 11 and going to be 12 this summer. He has recently started wetting his bed nightly for the past two months. Before this he was wetting his bed 2 or 3 times a week since being potty trained late at age 5. The doctor says he has no physical condition to cause this but states that puberty may be part of the problem. Our son is a little immature and slow when compared to other children but is very bright too. I searched the net inquiring about bedwetting and came upon this site which has proven to be very helpful. After reading this board 2 weeks ago we ( my husband & I) decided it would be best to return our son back to diapers. Not to baby him, but to help him be more comfortable at night. ( And save on laundry) We explained everything to him before we started but I have to say the first three nights were a nightmare getting him into diapers. We held on, assuring him he is not a baby and how several other children his age wear diapers too which seems to help. We realise this is not the solution but we believe is good management to his problem that we should have done years ago when he started wetting.

From Kay Elizabeth, Child's Age 16 - 2/13/2002 - IP#: 63.159.196.32 Click here to reply I posted a message about my younger brother a little while ago. His disposable diapers were leaking at night so I bought some plastic pants which didn't help much. I'm thinking of buying some cloth diapers. The only problem is that, we used to use cloth diapers on him, but when he got too old for us to diaper him, he couldn't fasten the pins tight enough and the diapers leaked all over the place. He still can't get it quite right. The only pull-on cloth diapers I can find, even in large sizes, have baby patterns like teddy bears. Is there anywhere I can find plain white pull-on cloth diapers?

From tori, Child's Age 18 - 2/8/2002 - IP#: 205.188.195.191 Click here to reply Hello everyone. my daughter is 18 years old and has just had surgry. She has never wet the bed before but did last night. I was wondering if this could have been caused by her being so sick. She has been running a pretty high fever and is currently taking pain medication that makes her very sedated and sleep soundly. I know that it is not her fault one way or the other and she can't help it but no matter what we tell her she thinks we think less of her now. I was hoping i could get some feedback from you guys. Thanks for your time!
Tori

From Darlene, Child's Age 11 - 2/7/2002 - IP#: 207.50.4.102 Click here to reply Hello, I have been using cloth baby diapers and plastic pants on my son for a year now becasue of his bedwetting. It was difficult at first but he is very very good about it now and will not go to bed without his diaper on. I use the cloth because of economics and that I am able to incease the diaper absorbancy just by adding a soaker pad. If anyone knows of a more absorbant diaper for children, I would be willing to try it. My son is eleven. Darlene

From Ervin, Child's Age 14 - 1/30/2002 - IP#: 64.165.142.82 Click here to reply I need some advice and fast. Here’s the situation. Robbie, who just turned 14 last month, has a minor bed wetting issue for which he has worn diapers for the past five+ years now. He has come to accept them as a solution and all was fine. We are private so we have told no one else about this. Robbie, is still reluctant to put on his diapers every night, but generally does so around 8:00 to 8:30, and then sits down in the den where there are no windows) to watch some TV and play video games before bedtime of 10pm. The problem is that his grandfather who lives a block away came over last evening and when he approached the door one of Robbie’s girl friends was coming to the door at the same time. Well anyway, he let her in the house, telling her to wait in the living room and he would get Robbie. He did not know the issues we have had where we have asked her to stay out of Robbie’s bedroom (for privacy / diaper reasons and because it is generally not proper), but she went in and found some of his things (he keeps the extra diapers, pants, lotion, etc... in his closet, but left the pail out that night) and then, hearing his games downstairs in the den, raced down there to greet him. His grandfather, meanwhile, was in the kitchen helping my wife with a little emergency with the gas oven, so neither had a clue as to what was going on until they heard Robbie and Jennie. Robbie is a Freshman in high school and this could be devastating, so we are quite concerned. He stayed home from school today and does not want to return tomorrow. He screams when I say I will talk to Jennie and her mother to make sure this stays private. Also, Robbie now refuses to wear his night gear as they seem to call it here on this site.Help! What should I do?
