We actually have a boy behaving the same way. He very seldom wets himself except when wearing either snowpants or rainpants, i.e. pants where no others will notice accidents when he is out playing. When out sleighing they do that in a field a bit away, and then he says he has an accident on the way home. The strange thing is that he never has accidents when he is not wearing snowpants or rain pants. When sitting down and talking about it some weeks ago he admitted that he "once or twice" had wet his pants on purpose when beeing out playing, because he figured out that he probably not would get home before having a real accident. When we said he was too old for doing this he asked what was the big deal, nobody noticed and also his friends did it. We asked how he knew about his friends if nobody noticed, and then he had no answers. We told him that we did not accept his behavier, and if he continued doing it he would be put back in diapers when playing outdoor. To show that we were serious we bought a package of Attends. He was quite frigthened when he noticed, and at least for the 2 last weeks he has stayed dry, even if he has been out in snowpants several times. At least for our part we think our son has just been lazy. He is in a periode where lots of things are boring, I would not be surprised if he also regards walking home to pee as boring and therefore instead does it in his pants.
