I realize these are old posts, but I was searching because my 5 year old son is having the same problem. I took him to the costor, and they said exactly what Steven said. He is constipated, and only the liquid is coming out. The doc did not say anything about cleaning him out. He gave my myalax (sp?), which I am to put in one of his drinks daily. It is supposed to help him go potty, and also strengthen th elittle muscles in his rectum....only so far it is not working. I dont know what to do. He is due to start kindergarten in 2 weeks! Help!
