I am a 61 year old male and have been using DDAVP for almost two years. I was wetting almost every night and now only wet about three times per month. It's not a complete cure but a major improvement. I have good insurance so the cost isn't a big problem, but my prescription (30 tablets, 0.2mg each) would cost about $150 without insurance. My doctor said to take one or two tablets just before bedtime, but so far one seems to work fine. The drug slows kidney output for about six hours which is enough to get through most nights without a full bladder. The few wet nights I still have are likely due to staying up late, drinking beer or wine in the evening, or other things that upset my normal daily routine. Some people do have side effects and it simply doesn't work for some others, but most people are helped by it. In your daughter's case, it's worth a try to see if it works. Just remember that it isn't a cure and won't eliminate 100% of wet nights, but it probably will help.
