A fetish sometimes can manifest itself around this age! a quirk of nature makeing the child be attracted to the feel of an innanimate object i.e plastic pants!. I am not saying this is the problem . And also environment can play a part, ie; parents argueing,parents paying too much attention to A child and not enough to another! these are all factors to look at! .As to allowing her to wear a nappy and plastic pants this is your decition it depends does she soil and wet continually or just occasionally? if continually then yes allow it but she must be made to feel emotionally secure!if occasionally then, it is better than sleeping in a wet bed when she does wet! soiling can be an emotional thing! as can witholding faeces makeing her costipated ie; jealousy of her younger sister! she may feel left out of things the attention you give the 7 yr old so take time when the seven yr old is not around to pay attention to the 11 yr old if her 7 yr old goes to bed earlier than the 11 yr old then that extra time between her going to bed can be quality time between you and her and possibly dad however I would have your daughter checked out if constipation is a problem my son was given Lactolose for it!. sorry for the repeat posting but my previous post was done quickly and it seemed muddled up with words joined up.
