Reply from Mr John, Child's Age Poppa - 11/11/02 - IP#: 65.56.169.169Layla: Now that I have my wits about me, and I could read your post of earlier today 11/10, it surely does appear that your daughter #1, bless her heart, is having those constipation problems. Do not let that become chronic. She may be plugged up and the obsruction may also affect her peeing. Best to see doctor. Treatment would vary I believe, varying from diet to some degree of flushing out(only word I can think of right now. However, you could try glycerine suppositories, but I hesitate to sound like a doctor. That I am not, in spite of the fact that home remedies very often work OK. Get the latter at chemical shop in your venacular. Get also some prunes, apricots, raisins, et al. Also the grains. I don't know about oats, but I do not think they are fibrous enough to help. I am sure a Doc would prescribe something to get things moving, if nothing else. You can supply the fruits. From you conversation, daughter is is indeed having discomfort and quite aware that she needed the protection and to not have pain. Don't allow it to get worse and aggrivate the situation. Just sitting on potty will not do the trick and could be quite painful to her when pushing too hard. She of course is not aware of her dilema if constipation is the culprit. Keep us informed of progress. Like to hear from you. Best wishes...Mr J |
