The wetting may have stopped,the violence and humiliation cured the symptom, but not the underlying malady! Incidentally, some are of the opinion that this board is just for bedwetters and kids with medical problems, yes; but it is equally important to address the needs of children who actually like wearing diapers/nappies. They exist so they and their parents need help and advice, including addressing underlying problems. I would not wish any child to go through the doubt and torment I suffered as a child who longed for his nappy days and a mother's care. The use of physical pain and humiliation fails to do anything except inflict fear and mistrust. The parents who still wish to teach their children that violence and humiliation is an effective form of control should WATCH OUT LATER as the problems will become deep-seated and much more serious! Thus, I strongly recommend "Bitter Greys Den and Why Kids Love Diapers" (www.geocities.com/mitcher14/wkld.html. This man speakes from his own experience as a child. He also covers subjects such as christianity and infantilism. He explains that this is nothing to do with real children when found in adults. He gives a very accurate analysis and advice and also points out that your attitude as a parent is crucial. KIDS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO COMMIT SUICIDE when some parents have got it wrong -enough said.I also see some of you say consult a psychologist or worse a psychiatrist! I have consulted both in relation to myself and in England at least they seem very ignorant about the subject and IN MY OPINION could do far more harm than good.Lastly, if the so-called experts can't understand then what of this fellow John, who has not the foresight to see that the underlying malady was not addressed. I am certain he has never had any desire to wet his pants for attention or anything like it so he talks from no experience whatsoever. Though in fairness, his intentions may well have been good.
