You are fortunate that he admits that he has an emotional need to wear diapers and does not wet on purpose and use his bedwetting to justify his desire to wear diapers. This month's poll (#29) on this site indicates that 64% of kids have wet on purpose so that they can wear diapers. It seems to be a harmless behavior, but the causes of the behavior and the long term effects are really unknown at this point. A problem arises when parents and healthcare providers do not realize that the child is wetting in order to wear diapers, and hazardous procedures and treatments are carried out. |
