Hi, I'm Steven aged 17. You and your husband are correct in your thinking. Like your son, I come from a family of wetters. We all were taught to take responsibility for our own problem.. At age 10, I learned to change my own diapers (either cloth or disp.) and do my own laundry. It was my choice to use a diaper or not. I elected to use cloth diapers when at home since they hardly ever leak when using the proper plastic pants. I use Depends Overnights when away from home. My experience with Goodnites resulted in many leaks. Your son is now going through a period of embarrassment and denial due to his age. He needs to learn to take charge of his problem and you as parents should not back down and give in to him. If he choses to not wear protection because it currently hurts his self esteem; then it is his responsibility to do his own laundry. Making and living with ones choices is part of growing up!
