You need for him to feel that he can trust you with his feelings and problems. Try to get him to open up and talk about when he started feeling this way, what was happening, if there are pressures in life making him want to go backward, things like that. Don’t respond with “That does not matter”. Be open and understanding with him. This feeling did not start in a day, and it won’t end in a day either, so have patience. |
