So they don’t tell you when they need to go. Adding that information to your original message gives the following scenario: four girls that are, with rare exceptions, able to make it to the bathroom on time at home; yet when on a vacation trip, none of them say they need to go and all four end up wet at the same time. That may have been a conspiracy; it seems too much of a coincidence for four girls to all have “accidents” at roughly the same time. I am certainly not a child psychologist, but this looks like a behavior problem more than a bladder control problem. Maybe the excitement of going on vacation made them think the normal rules at home didn’t apply. If you think they are capable of holding it between reasonably spaced rest stops then I would forget the diapers, make frequent stops, and insist that they go at each stop whether they need to or not. If anyone has an “accident” that you don’t believe was a real accident, you might just leave them in wet pants (or figure out some other appropriate discipline). I would never recommend embarrassment or humiliation for someone with a real problem, but I am not above a little public embarrassment for deliberate misbehavior.
