My bladder would suddenly contract like a fist and without warning, making it almost impossible to hold my urine. This was mostly induced by emotional trouble. My family was unloving and strict. Such contractions can also be caused by a urinary infection, causing pants and bedwetting in many age groups. It can be diagnosed by a simple urine test and treated with oral antibiotics, making the doctor visit less than terrifying. Give him love and encouragement, and teach him to go to the bathroom before he feels the need. (not so easy at 5 years old, because they have so much to do in so little time) But don't make too big a deal out of it, because this too shall pass. Expect the kids at school to tease harshly. There is nothing as cruel as another child. |
