Doctors sometimes rely too much on medication (that’s what they are trained to do) and don’t look at other solutions. They almost never recommend diapers since that would be admitting that they can’t fix the problem. If you’ve tried medication for almost eight weeks and seen no improvement, you might want to try something else, like an alarm. Look at the Dr. Greene site for better information on that as well as suggestions on other techniques. Your son is apparently a very deep sleeper and doesn’t like wearing pull-ups to bed, but if nothing else works, pull-ups or diapers may be the only solution until his body matures a little more. |
