JenniferLynn... has your son tried DDAVP? It is somewhat expensive, but it inproves nighttime wetting in about 80% of kids who try it, and it is great for sleepovers. Unfortunately DDAVP doesn't cure the nighttime wetting, it just decreases the urine production during sleep. To cure his nighttime wetting, alarms are the best approach. Wetness alarms work well, but if he has night terrors on awakening, then a simple alarm clock or a vibration alarm clock may be better. To avoid the night terrors, try waking him early in the morning to start with. His sleep is not as deep then, and the night terror problem may not occur. If you find an hour where he will awaken without the terrors, then wake him gradually earlier and earlier in the night, until he can awaken before he usually wets and get up and use the toilet. Or you can try a wetness alarm at that point. This procedure hopefully will avoid the night terrors and also cure his bedwetting. I feel that diapers are risky, because so many kids seem to get attached to them (see the polls on this site), which may prolong the wetting, or may even result in a diaper fetish. Good luck.
