Reply from Tom, Child's Age none - 4/22/02 - IP#: 159.39.16.14Bob - I have never been opposed to trying alarms, medications, or anything else to find a cure. I am skeptical of cure rates claimed by manufacturers, but even if 60-80% were cured, there would still be 20-40% that were not. Those kids that are not helped by alarms, medications, etc, need more options than just waking up with wet sheets - often in the middle of the night. I believe using diapers is a reasonable alternative to that. I wouldn't say that emotional attachment to diapers is prevalent among kids using this site, unless you consider the use of eyeglasses to be an emotional attachment as well. There are many kids that use diapers for good reasons but I don't think that creates an emotional attachment. If you assume that once a kid stops bedwetting, he moves on to other interests and stops using this site. The kids still here are the ones that have not stopped, and most of them have tried different "cures" with no success. That being the case, I would expect a high percentage of them to be diaper users. |
