I agree with you that everything has to be to done to cure a child but only if it is ready for that. An example: you start to use a wetting alarm what takes a long time where in the whole family is somewhat stressed because it takes a lot of effort for parents and the child who wet. If that fails you cannot start the next therapie lets say hypnosis because the child (and also the parents) need some time to get ready for the next try, time to rest out of the stress and to take the disappointment that it did not work. If you would do one after the other i am sure the chance that one can be succesful is lower then 20%. In the meantime i don't think it is wrong to use diapers but only if the child wants to use them, don't force them into them because they get even more stressed. Also when everything is done and nothing worked i am convinced like Maggie and Joan it is a fair way to manage the problem. Diapers don't cure the problem but there is no evidence that they prolong bedwetting even when most specialist say it is not right. Also your point that sites like this prolong is far behind the point, it helps and does not prolong. |
