Hi Steven. Thank you for trying to help Tom. I do appreciate it. However, one of the effects of his Asperger’s is difficulty in conversing with others. It is due to his social skills impairment. It was difficult enough for me to get him to write his original posting and his reply to you. If I tell you that each of his postings took him about an hour to compose, you will appreciate the problem. This was because he felt he had to edit it over and over again (using Microsoft Word) until he was completely satisfied with it. He then pasted it into the box on this site. This type of obsessive behaviour is also symptomatic of Asperger’s. Therefore any “spontaneous” conversation via the chat room would take hours, if it was possible at all. Having said that, I can assure you that your encouraging words have been a great help, because he now believes us when we tell him that many other kids (both his age and older) wear nappies in bed and in the car. Although he still finds it embarrassing (as I expect you also do), he no longer feels that he is alone with the problem, especially with wearing in the car. He was so pleased about staying dry while we were out walking in Scotland, that he was keen to tell you about it. By the way, do you have any comments concerning Bob’s posting or his reply to Maggie, in which he implies that sites like this help to prolong wetting.
