Reply from Maggie, Child's Age 11 - 3/12/02 - IP#: 12.86.9.149Bob -- I wonder if the liberal use of diapers nowadays stems partly from all the horror stories we’ve heard about parents putting too much pressure on their kids to stop wetting, all the advice we have gotten (alarms, nose sprays, etc.) that does not seem to work for some kids, and all the accounts by former bedwetters about at waking up cold and miserable every morning for years. There may be some risk that a child will become dependent on and/or attached to diapers, but they make life so much easier on both the child and his family that I wonder if at least sometimes it may be worth the risk. Most of the parents on this board who have tried them generally seem glad they did and wish they had done it years ago. |
