Karen, thanks for introducing some words of common sense into a discussion where reason is sometimes lacking. Contrary to what others may say, teenagers are not little children. And if they act that way, it is probably because their parents encourage such behavior -- such as directing their older children to appear in the more public areas of the house wearing nothing over their diapers, possibly over their children's objection. My sons, like yours, both wear diapers at night, and my youngest son needs daytime protection as well. By being reasonable in our approach to their incontinence, there is never a situation in which we have to order them to do anything regarding the management of their bladder control disability. If teenagers and older children are treated with dignity, it is possible for parents to create a positive environment in which it is never necessary to compel the use of diapers by their bedwetting sons or daughters against their will. Instead, the bedwetters can learn to recognize the value of diapers in making life better for them, and they think of it as their own decision to wear them. It makes for much more harmonious family relationships.
