Sandra – Congratulations on triggering what must be one of the most thoughtful and informative discussions ever on this board. I must say that I personally have learnt a lot from everyone. Regarding your potential problem of convincing your son of the need for car trip diapering, you could try the approach I suggested to Maggie at the end of my previous post. Kids don’t like to feel that they are the only ones being diapered for trips. If they know that many kids even older than themselves are diapered for car journeys, they may be more prepared to accept it. Believe me, things get even worse in this respect when they reach their teens. I once heard a quotation (I think it was from a school teacher) which sums up their attitudes exactly: “I find that teenagers like being different, as long as all their friends are different with them.”
