And worst of all the stench. His brothers coudl not stand it either. We wanted him to wear diapers but everytime we brought it up he absolutely refused. Finally a month ago my wife and I decided he was gonna wear them. Since he didnt' couldn't make the decision we made it for him. We ordered the the diapers and plastic pants. When they came we put them in this room and tld him he was going to have to wear them. That first tiem was pretty difficult for all. He refused and pitched a fit. We didnt' give in and after a few swats on the backside we got him undressed and pinned them on. The first few days he was really bummed. After a month I can tell you now it is great. No wet sheets, not wet pjs. his brother doesn't complain about sharing the stinky bedroom. No more fighting with him. We already wash diapers fro our 2 year old so its no big deal washing them for one more. And more importantly even Billy is much happier in diapers. He is still embarassed about needing them but he would rather have them than not. After chnaign himadn his baby brother at night he will even hang aroudn the house in his pjs and night diaper now as it is not such a big deal to him. I know some htink it should be the bedwetter's choice over whether to wear dipars or not. Bottom line is that i do not necessarily agree. Sometimes children do not make the right choice. Thats when adults and aprents need to step in and make the decision. Ultimatley the child sees it is the right choice then and all I well. This world has gotten way to permissive regarding children. If you have decided he needs a diaper and thats whtat best then you do not need his permission. |
