Plastic pants over disposable diapers will help a little, but if the leaking has been extensive, you might want to try one of several alternatives for increasing the absorbency of his diaper. We use cloth diapers, because it is always possible to add additional layers. Or you can insert disposable pads inside his disposable diaper to increase absorbency. Another option, which is considerably more expensive, is to have him wear two disposable diapers at a time, with the plastic on the inside diaper cut in several places.
