Backed up hard BM's can dilate a child's bowel, so that only liquid BM's can pass and can't be controled, and the child therefore soils his underwear. My son had this. Get a pediatrician to check his abdomen for backed up BM's. Our pediatrician prescribed several fleets enemas to clean him out and then mineral oil (2 tblspns) in yogurt once a day for a month to keep the problem from returning. After my son was cleaned out the soiling totally stopped. |
