Raylene, I agree cloth diapers are the best. We had a boy who wet from 10yrs to 13yrs. At age 12 I made diapers for him for motivation. He was a bit lazy and would not clean up the sheets in the morning and would not put on his bedwetting alarm. So my sister who is good at sewing made a serious of diapers a 2 ply a 4 ply and a 6 ply. I started out by making him wear the diaper(starting him out on the 6 ply) after school and all day on weekends. The 6 ply diaper was very motivating since it showed quit a diaper ridge under his pants. We did not make him wear the diapers to school but they were strictly worn around the house and on any family outings we went on during the week and on weekends. The only allowance we made was for soccer and baseball games both of which he was on the teams. All other school activities after school had to be droped so that he could get home for diapering. So the diapers were a big inconvience to him and cut into his social and play life. The nice thing about the three ply system(my sisters idea)is that if he is doing better you can drop to a less bulky diaper as a reward. Or if his attitude or behavior warrents you can move back up to the 6 ply. Plastic pants were worn with all diaper systems. My sister experimented with the 6 ply as we decided that should be the most motivating and the one worn for bed due to the thickness.(also worn in daytime if needed)One thing she wanted on the 6 ply was for it to keep its shape and bulk in the croch area. She noticed that after long peroids of sitting for example doing homework or watching TV or a vidio the diaper in between the legs became curshed and did not maintain the bulkiness. So she experimented with different paddings and materials so that when he got up the diaper went back to the original thickness and witdth of the 6" plastic pant crouch. If any of you would like to build the three stage diapering system and have questions on how we did it I would be glad to ask my sister what she used in them. Just include your email in the reply and I will try to answer any questions you have. This system really worked for me and if you have a child that is a little bull headed or lazy I would recomend it. However this should be used only when all other things have failed. Our boy was trained in that year from 12 to 13 by going up and down the diaper thickness system with him.
