Lots of older kids that really need diapers for bed or day wetting refuse to use them for the same reason - they're not babies and they think only babies wear diapers. Try to make him understand that babies are helpless persons that can't walk, talk, eat by themselves, dress themselves, bathe themselves, or use tha bathroom like older kids. Diapers by themselves do not define being a baby and your son doesn't have any of the other baby characteristics. Lots of kids that are not babies use diapers because their body has simply not fully developed in that area yet. You've probably heard this before, but you can point out to him that every grocery, drug, and discount store carries disposable diapers for older kids and adults. Stores don't carry merchandise that doesn't sell so there are lots of people that are not babies using these products. You might also get him to look at the older kids message board on this site where he will find other kids his age that have the same problem.
