My daughter and I made a simple agreement: she will wear diapers to bed until she wakes up dry for a week. It took one temper tantrum and losing her TV and phone privileges for a week, and now she lives by the new rule. This might not be a popular notion around here, but I think the embarassment of being diapered can create a subconscious motivation for a child to wake up when he/she needs to pee at night. I've been clear with her that the diapers are not punishment, but a means to handle a problem. |
