I have been wetting the bed since I was born. This problem has been the main contributing factor to the social isolation I have put myself under. Every friendship I have had led to failure due to my poor self-esteem and lack of interest in spending the night at others houses. I remember when I was very young, I think I was eight or nine, I spent the night at my neighbors house and wet the bed. I went home in the middle night to switch out my sheets I was so embarassed. After this episode I did not spend the night at anyones house again until about four years later. This time I wet the bed again and was luckily able to cover it up. Throughout my teenage years I became very shy and withdrawn from people because I did not feel anyone could accept me for my problem. Now I always feel like others see me as being different and I am terrified of being badly burned if I were to establish a friendship or relationship with someone. I have been through a numerous amount of testing by both a family urologist and a urologist from Mayo Clinic. I have been told that I am a very healthy person who has nothing wrong with them both physically or functionally. The only thing that doctors have been able to conclude is that I am an extremely deep sleeper. I would also like to tell everyone that my urologist had a patient whom was 19 and wet the bed since he was born, the problem of his bed wetting was food allergies. It turned out that he had an allergry to milk was the cause of his problem. I had allergy testing done hoping this would benefit me like it did for one of my doctors patience but no such luck. Right now I started using sleep alarms which may help me to become a less deep sleeper. In seven months I am going to be attending college away from home and am very fearful about what others might find out hopefully these alarms will help me defeat my lifelong problem. Ihave also begun undergoing counceling to help overcome my social obstacles this problem has caused me to develop. I would also like to say that if anyone has a child with this problem they should seek help from doctors immediately. Do Not listen to doctors when they tell you your child will outgrow their problem. Demand to get tests run immediately so you know what your dealing with and can try to overcome and understand the problem before it socially destroys your child. Yes testing will be very hard for your child but help guide them through it because they will be much better off socially and have a much more positive outlook on life in they become an adult. Thank You Everyone for listening!!

I have been a bedwetter on and off since childhood. I have occurances when I'm stressed. this has happened when I was 10 to 13 when my mum and dad got divorced, when I was 16 to 18 when doing my exams, at 27 when I was left by a long term girlfriend and now - for about the last 18 months - due to stress at work etc etc. I'm now married and this is the first time I've had to face it with my wife. She is very caring and loving and I wear disposable nappies to stop wetting her in bed. The problem is that she just cannot understand my problem and thinks of nappies as only for babies and cannot look at me in them - I change in private, etc. Can anyone help me with this with any isdeas in trying to discuss it together, managing the issues, eyc. Please- if anyone has similar experiences, ideas, suggestions, etc I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks, Simon.

Hello, My name is XYZ. I am 32 years old, and I experienced 1(one) time bedwetting three years a go (June of 2000). In December of 2002, I had total of three episodes of bedwetting (Two at the beginning of the month; and one towards the end of the month). I went to urologist after the 2nd episode, and he tested a sample of my urine for diabetes, and any infection. Results came negative. Doctor told me that I may have an overactive bladder, so I should limit my fluid intake before bedtime, and/or set my alarm clock to wake up and go to the bathroom. Basically, he saw no further need at this point to pursue any additional testing to see what is the cause of the problem. I am worried now that it happens again and/or become a regular thing with me. I am planning to see another Urologist at the mean time. I try to wake up every night at about 3 to 4 am to go to the bathroom from being scarred to make it again. Any one has similar issues? What did you do to address it? What was the results? Any advice at the mean time? Thanks.

Hi everyone. I am a 25 year old guy from Columbus Ohio. I am a bedwetter although not many know this. I have to wear diapers at night. I am very athletic though and clean cut. I work as a pilot for a company based in NJ. I am looking for a lady who has experienced or is accepting of the same situation who would be interested in a sincere date with a gentleman who has something in common. Thanks.

Hi. This is donnie in ca. I have always had a wetting problem, 'specially at night, which has become more urgent over the years, and now happens more often in the daytime as well. In my 30's I began wearing diapers occasionally. I found it humiliating, but have gotten used to the feeling as I wear them more and more now. It helps to share with others online who are incontinent...there are lots of us so I don't feel so strange. I am comfortable with who I am, and there is a cozy security knowing I can wee in my pants whenever I have to, especially in public situations that would be otherwise difficult (ie. finding a toilet...standing in line shopping...long car-rides...baseball games...movies,etc.). I generally use Attends with plastic-pants in public, and often use cloth diapers at home, with plastic or rubber pants(to keep the cost down. these are kinda bulky for public use). I would love to chat with any of you who are struggling with a decision to wear diapers. I had a hard time with it at first, but am happy with it now. I don't mind, really, considering all the other troubles in the world. Sure, people find out and wonder about it, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Fortunately, I have been able to meet others who share this condition, and have even dated incontinent women who were ashamed to initiate relationships with men who did not know about their wetting. Don't let it get you down. Needing diapers doesnt have to come with guilt and shame...it just isn't worht it. There are even advantages, like not having to rush to find a bathroom. Please, don't fight it... don't stress, just 'go with the flow'. I'd be happy to chat with any of you, and share my story in more detail. Write me at: doniwen@hotmial.com

Hey it looks like Santa brought me a present earlier than expected. For the past 2 nights I haven't wet the bed :D :D :D. I've been a bedwetter since I was born. Most people think I wet the bed because of the stress I'm under, I found out this year I'm Autistic (Aspergers Syndrome) which could be a big reason for it. Hopefully I'll continue to have dry nights. Anyway Happy Holidays to everyone!

I just wanted to make it clear that I'm not an Adult Baby or anything along those lines, even though my husband diapers me at night and sometimes changes me in the morning... it's just his way of dealing with my situation and making me feel "okay" about having to wear a diaper for my bedwetting.

Hi there! I just found this board and it's awesome! I'm a 25 year old female, happily married, and have been a chronic bedwetter for almost my entire life. My husband is extremely loving, nurturing, and very accepting of my situation - diapering me at night and sometimes changing me in the morning. I doesn't look like there's been much activity on this board, but I would love to connect with a couple of other females who wet at night. Thanks! :-)
