gene, do not wait to go to the doctor. I thought it would pass and it did not do so. I am sitting here today wearing diapers all because of that kind of infection. I had a prostate infection but a bladder/urinary tract infection is in the same boat. Till you see the doctor i would start wearing protection(diaper) you can fit into a depends sized small diaper or the largest baby diaper you can find, no i am not trying to push you into diapers but this is advise you should take from someone that has had over 20 of these in the past 11 years and every time they occur it weakens my bladder and the surrounding muscles to a point that i have 5 percent controll of my bladder, this stinks but hey this is what life gives us- that is lemons and with them you have to make lemonade with them. so i would have this checked out and fast! they will perscribe a powerful antibioitic and a pain reliver for the nagging pain for a few days and you should be alright finish the meds and drink plenty of fluids to flush your kidneys and bladder out which means that you will urinate more often and you will hopefully be fine in the future drink lots of water during the day and at night and get rid of those soda's and sports drinks they are not the greatest. other than that you will be ok.
