David: I have a viable suggestion for you, should you care to use it. Yes, it sure would be disconcerting to have to deal with wet sheets, etc. under your circumstances. Of course we do not know the entirety of your situation, like if you have a roommate, what laundry accomodations, nor people hanging out. Use whatever you can comfortably. Firstly, I suggest you provide protection to your matress. I personally don't think much of plastic, but it does work and is used very often by parents of youngsters and adults. You can get a full plastic cover to fit around and hug the matress. I suggest this in case of failure of further efforts. A piece of sheet plastic on top the matress will seem to be useful, but is inclined to shift around with normal movements. I think a rubber sheet is better as it is heavier, but if too small, say, will also shift around under the cotton sheets. Then you will have to shop this or order from an internet website a good sized bed pad. Shop a Medical Supply Store for this if you are in a sizeable metro area. If you have somebody at home who will understand your predicament, they might help to locate a pad and have it sent on to you. As I have seen, there are various sizes for use on respective size beds. Our Tom, who may still write to you, mentions a larger size to insure coverage. I use a smaller one myself and it bunches up a little under movement by me, but would work out satisfactorily. Of course, if the quilted side of the pad on which you lay becomes used, you will have to wash it, which is easier than the bed sheets, but does take special care when drying in a dryer as the opposite side is heavy vinyl normally and cannot be overheated. Without the bedpad, you have the bedsheet, topsheet and possibly the matress to deal with. The bedpads are not really expensive(relatively that is) and to find something to wear for a "just in case" scenario would be more. Finally, if you get a bedpad or two, get at least one that is the heavier. And hey, let us know how you are doing and if you want a little more help with your circumstances. Hope this helps.....Mr j
