A urinary infection can cause the bladder to contract suddenly, causing a wet bed. This can be diagnosed by a doctor with a simple urine test and treated with pills. The doctor will not think less of you for wetting the bed, so don’t be afraid to go and to speak openly as you speak here. If you don’t have an infection, perhaps an emotional upset has occurred in your life. I know the beginning of the school year always did it for me. Every year about this time, I would start wetting again. It was just an emotional thing, or a fear. Other emotional factors come into play as well: A death of friend, family or pet; a move to a new town; anything that bothers you, as trivial as it may seem. Think about it and see if there is something like that. In the emotional case, the bedwetting may go away by itself soon, or you may need to get a bed alarm, which will wake you up each time you start to get wet, thus rebuilding the habit of staying dry. I used one quite often when I was your age. Don’t give up. You were dry before and you will be again. |
