just a few seconds later I'm all wet. The bathroom in our house is downstairs and my room is upstairs, pretty far away. Too far to get there a lot of times after my bladder contracts. I wear diapers sometimes but like to try to stay dry by myself because I can do it when I try hard. When I know I'm going to wet myself, though, I have some things I do that work well. First, getting to the bathroom. A lot of times I can't. Therefore, there are two other places I go (when at home.) First, if I'm near outside, I run out there. When I wet myself outside, there is no clean up for the yard, only myself! If I can't make it outside, there is a linoleum hall in out house. Wetting there is all right because it's easy to clean up and doesn't leave a scent (like on carpet.) Here's what I do after I wet, in order. 1. strip out of wet pants and underwear and wash myself. 2. Put on clean clothes 3. Spray dirty clothes with Febreeze and put them under my bed until they dry. Lay flat to dry quicker. My parents know I wet but I am hiding it from my sister who sometimes does laundry. Spraying with Febreeze and allowing them to dry keeps the urine scent away and doesn't let her see them wet and know my problem. 4. Clean up floor. If my accidnet was in the hallway, all I have to do is wipe it with a wet towel, spray with 409, and then wipe it with a dry towel. Done! You may be wondering how my sister doesn't know I wet if I go in the hall. I am not a liar like some of the people on this form. My sister doens't know because she is at work almost all the time. She's graudated from high school and works at a day care. She just still lives at home. I have one more hint. Some of you, like me, may be trying to hide your day or nighttime wetting from siblings. Ask your parents if you can keep your diapers/gn's in their closet. That way, your sibling will never know! Even if he finds them, he won't know whose they are. Now I have a question. Because of my wetting problem, both at day and night, my mom has an idea. She wants to put a commode in my room. A commode is like a toilet seat with an attached bucket up on stilts so it's at a normal toilet level. It will come apart so I can put it in my closet when freinds come over. At night, I wake up RIGHT before I wet and can usually make it about four steps before I wet myself. The commode could save some wet pajamas and floor or at least make them jsut a little damp. It could help when I'm in my room in the daytime, too. What do you guys think? Have you ever tried something like that? Is it a dumb idea? My mom has a commode and really wants me to try it. I have another question. ????? had an idea about bladder expansion. It involves drinking a ton of fluids and holding it until you wet yourself. He/she claims that doing it enough expands your bladder to hold more. I think that might cause bladder infections. What do you think? I thought that holding pee when you have to go bad caused bladder infections that make you wet more. Does anyone know for sure? Now I have one last question. Do any of you know movies or books about kids or adults that have trouble with wetting? I have tried to find some and come up with nothing at all. I think it's weird that this is such a common problem, probably as common as epilepsy and dyslecia, yet while there are books on epilepsy and dyslecia there isn't a thing on wetting. Do you know of anything? Okay, I'm very sorry this is so long. I had a lot to say I hope maybe helped some of you.
