Reply from adam, Age 24 - 12/1/02 - IP#: 192.217.109.xxx adultbb-c813 David, I've been exactly where you are and I know exactly how tough it is. I had a long history of wetting as a kid and it had basically stopped until I was in college, and then it started happening again occasionally, especially at times when I was really tired or under a lot of stress. (I am a grad student now and it still happens to me occasionally.) There are a number of things you can do to conceal it: have an extra set of sheets or two so you can change the bed quickly; some kind of waterproof mattress pad or cover is a must; stick the wet sheets in an opaque black laundry bag until a good time comes to do laundry; have some febreze or other kind of air freshener around to take care of the smell. As long as you are discreet in handling the situation it is very likely that people around you won't notice; most people after all don't go around looking to see if you wet the bed, so as long as you don't draw attention to it they probably won't find out. If you live with a roommate, it will obviously be more difficult to keep hidden forever, especially if it happens more than once or twice more -- in that case if your roommate is a good friend you may want to think about just being honest with him; I have done that a couple of different times and they were a little surprised at first but were always really cool about it and kept it a secret from everyone else. Otherwise it may be worth forking over the extra cash to get a single room, which will obviously make hiding things easier. I hope things go well for you, and if you have any more questions you can post them on this board or e-mail me at smallblad77@hotmail.com. Take care, Adam |
